Pegasus Boat Club

The Robinson Old Blades Society was established in 1998 by the 1997/98 RCBC committee. An inaugural dinner was held in June 1998, combined with the club’s Mays Dinner. The initial membership has grown from 8 to nearly 50, and is expanding rapidly as current RCBC members graduate and older members re-establish contact.

In 2015, The Old Blades raced the Fairbairn cup for the first time, embarrassingly (for the students!) beating the 2015 men’s first boat!

In 2016 the Society was relaunched as the Pegasus Boat Club with a reformed committee. The Pegasus Boat Club now aims to meet regularly throughout the year both in Cambridge and London.

The Pegasus Boat Club aims to support RCBC by raising money towards training, equipment and racing costs, as well as offering advice on the long-term direction of the club. It also provides a name for any alumni crews to race under, should they wish too.

Pegasus Boat Club Committee

After recent meetings of the RCBC Committee and the previous Old Blades committee, it was decided that the committee needs updating with a reformed structure and new membership. Our current vision is to split the committee into 3 sub–committees taking responsibility for social events, technical advice and financial control. In this format, we hope to be able to successfully arrange alumni events both in Cambridge and elsewhere so Old Blades can get reconnected, develop a strong technical team to provide guidance to coaches and club captains and also ensure maximum return from donations to the Old Blades endowment.

If you would like more information on our plans for the new committee, or if you would like to suggest responsibilities, roles or positions and want to get involved yourself then please email the Old Blades Secretary.
